A single, isolated leak almost never calls for replumbing — a targeted repair is the right, cheaper fix, and we’ll always say so. Full replacement makes sense when the pattern is bigger than one break: leaks that keep returning in different spots, plumbing old enough that the PVC has grown brittle throughout, lines undersized or poorly routed from the original build, tree roots that have wrapped and cracked the pipe along its run, or a hard freeze that split a line in several places. We replace the failing buried lines (returns, suction, and main drain runs) with new Schedule-40 PVC and fresh fittings, and where the old routing was the problem, we reroute the lines around roots, settled slab, or tight runs that were always destined to fail. Confirming It's Time — and Planning the Cleanest Route

We don’t recommend replumbing on a hunch. First we confirm the plumbing is genuinely the problem and map how bad it is:

Pressure testing each line to document which ones are failing
Identifying whether the trouble is age, routing, roots, or freeze damage
Planning the most efficient new route — often around the original problem, not back through it
Minimizing digging and protecting decking and landscaping wherever possible

Only once the lines have proven they’re past saving do we plan a replacement — confirmed with pressure testing as part of our pool leak detection.
